L. Jeane Dorough OBITUARY

L. Jeane Dorough of Highlands Ranch, CO, passed away peacefully in her home on May 30, 2025. She was 102 years old.

She was born February 12, 1923 in Agra, Kansas. She was the daughter of a tenant farmer and was one of eight brothers and sisters. After graduating from Collins High School in Iowa, where she was valedictorian, she attended college at the University of Northern Iowa. Jeane taught elementary school for two years and was a stewardess for Western Airlines for five years. In 1950 she married Thomas (Gay) Dorough of Tulsa, OK. They were married for 53 years and had one child, Tom.

The family lived in Denver and Littleton Colorado for over 50 years where Gay was in the oil business and Jeane raised Tom.

Jeane was known for her many friendships and her love of family.

She had friends of all ages. She was a good listener who focused on the positive side of things and encouraged friends and family to do the same. She will be remembered as a warm, caring person who made people feel good to be around her.

Jeane celebrated her 102nd birthday at the Vi, where she lived, with greetings from friends and family from around the country.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gay. She is survived by her son, Tom Dorough (Leandra); her 6 grandchildren; her many great grandchildren; and her many great, great, grandchildren.
